It is so strange, but we were very sad to step off the boat and onto the resort. Safwan and Mohammad welcomed us into their culture and made the trip so exciting. To be surrounded by a different crowd just seemed so boring now.
But, resorts have their perks, like massages, alcohol, and just being able to know you experienced a 'Maldivian resort'.
Overall, the resort experience was okay. We have nothing to complain about. It was covered by a dark cloud and rainfall when we arrived, but that cleared up by the next morning. We both had a massage (it was fantastic), ordered a drink (let's just say we have purchased entire bottles of liquor for the same price as a single drink), chased geckos, held a parrot, read some books, ate desserts that were not snickers bars, and learned that Maldives is a country made up of 99% water and 1% land....that is crazy!
